For those enjoying the best four to six years of your life, a college campus circuit comedian with a sports bent, Steve Hofstetter, will perform free at 7 p.m. Friday, March 4 in Patterson Hall at Sierra Nevada College.

The 31-year-old has performed at more than 100 colleges in the last five years, has 200,000 Facebook friends and is the author of “Student Body Shots: A Sarcastic Look at the Best 4-6 years of your life.”

A 2002 graduate of New York City’s Columbia University, Hofstetter may have to adjust his act for Tahoe time, because four to six years in New York could be the equivalent of decades in the Sierra.

OK, we’ll leave the jokes to Hofstetter, who will present a comedy writing workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 5 in Room 139 of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building. The cost for the workshop is $50 or free to SNC students. To register for the workshop, applicants should email English Department chair June Saraceno at jsaraceno@sierranevada.edu or call the college at 775-831-1314.

Hofstetter has recorded five CD, written three books, appeared on the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and has authored columns for Sports Illustrated and NHL Today.
