Free concert this Friday

The final concert of the Summer Family Concert Series sponsored by Douglas County Parks and Recreation is scheduled Aug. 31. The free concert will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Minden Park Gazebo, Esmeralda and 5th streets in Minden, Nev.

The concert series is a community and family event and everyone is encouraged to pack a picnic and come relax in the park.

Larry Yates & The Blues Monsters, sponsored by Bently Nevada, will perform Aug. 31. Voted North Tahoe’s No. 1 blues band four years running, their reputation is based on their shoe-shaking live performances. The release of their CD “Red Hot Hat” has industry folks abuzz as its smokin’ blues sizzle radio station airwaves over California and Northern Nevada.

The concerts are offered free of charge because of the generous contributions of business and service groups in the community.
