Free science show should be a blast

Provided to the Tahoe Daily Tribune. "Eggbert" is among the experiments that youths will have a chance to perform during a science presentation.

The Mad Scientist will present the spectacular show “Up, Up, and Away” at 2 p.m. Friday at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library. Children will be amazed by the impressive science demonstrations in this dazzling show.

Children will blast into the world of air pressure, aerodynamics and physics in this exciting display. They will inflate a giant airbag with one breath, see a real hovercraft in action, and shoot toilet paper 50 feet in the air while learning about principles of gases in their everyday lives. This show is guaranteed to wow and excite children and their parents. Join us for this free, fun, interactive program that sparks the imagination and curiosity of children of all ages.

The Summer Reading Club continues through August 13. The Summer Reading Club is designed as an incentive for children to read during summer vacation by rewarding them with prizes for time spent reading. The South Lake Tahoe Branch Library is located at 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
