Free Thanksgiving feast Monday at St. Theresa

Provided to the Tribune

Jim Grant / Tahoe Daily Tribune / Volunteers Dennis and Marilee Lindsay will help prepare the 17th annual Bread and Broth Thanksgiving feast Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

The community is invited to attend Bread and Broth’s 17th annual Thanksgiving feast from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, corner of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Lyons Avenue.

This is a free dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. The dinner is open to anyone, but is especially for those for whom this will be their only opportunity to have a Thanksgiving meal.

Bread and Broth has served thousands of meals on a weekly basis since 1989. This community program operates with local volunteer support and is funded solely through cash and food donations. It has been a significant service to our community by providing a full dinner every Monday of the year to those that are struggling financially, those that live on a substandard, fixed income and to the homeless. In addition to receiving a meal, there is usually food that the clients can take home.

The Thanksgiving feast traditionally serves from 300 to 600 people. If you need a free, wonderful, Thanksgiving dinner, please join us. If you would like to support Bread and Broth during this holiday season, drop your donations off at St. Theresa Church or mail to Bread and Broth, 1041 Lyons Ave., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
