Friday morning ski report for Heavenly, Kirkwood and Sierra-at-Tahoe

Heavenly Mountain Resort reports 6 to 9 inches of fresh snow this morning, with more on the way. The resort reports a 12 to 18-inch base depth, thanks to snowmaking. Lifts open at 9 a.m. Go to http://www.skiheavenly.com or call 1-800-HEAVENLY.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort reports 7 to 10 inches of new snow, a base depth of 9 to 18 inches. One lift open, 2 trails open, 2 trails groomed, no terrain parks open.

Sierra-at-Tahoe reports 12 inches at the base and ski patrol estimates as much as 2 feet at the top. The resort is closed but officials says it will start turning its lifts as soon as it can and encourages skiers and boarders to check back for updates.
