Friday’s weather: Sunny and warm this weekend, breezy afternoons today and Saturday
August 8, 2008
A trough of low pressure approaching the Pacific Northwest will bring a drier southwest flow into the Tahoe area this weekend.
Highs today and the remainder of the weekend are expected to be in the upper 70s to lower 80s under sunny skies. The drier air mass will allow for cooler temperatures overnight with lows forecast to drop into the 30s.
Gusty southwest winds around 15 to 30 mph are expected in the afternoons today and Saturday kicking up 2 to 3 foot waves on the north and eastern shores of Lake Tahoe.
Boaters and water sport enthusiast should get out on the lake in the morning hours to avoid the rough waters. Look for lighter winds on Sunday as the flow turns to the northwest. Have a great weekend.
