Friends of Library seek donations
Provided to the Tribune
As spring cleaning begins on the South Shore, the South Lake Tahoe Friends of the Library is putting out a general request to the public for donations of new library materials. People who shop for the latest bestsellers are asked to consider donating the books to the library when they are finished reading them. The library also is looking for donations of recent imprint (1995 or later) used books in good to excellent condition.
In addition, the library is looking to expand its video and DVD collections. People who have movies in either format that they no longer view are asked to consider donating them. Children’s videos that children have outgrown would be an excellent addition as well as recent movies and even documentaries (travel videos, etc.) will help benefit the community library.
Anyone who would like to further help the library should consider attending the Friends of the Library meeting at 6 tonight in the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library conference room. The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit group of volunteers whose goal is to support the local library, with a special emphasis on the Children’s Programs. Future fund-raising events such as the Ice Cream Social & Summer Book Sale will be discussed at the meeting.
