Fund-raiser for ailing toddler

A fund-raiser for 2-year-old Bailey Johnson is being held June 13 at Sierra-at-Tahoe from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bailey was diagnosed and treated for neuroblastoma at 9 months of age. He had a short remission, but the cancer is now back and threatening his life.

Bailey is facing a bone marrow transplant, a painful $200,000 procedure.

His mother, Kelly, left her job to be with him at his San Francisco Bay area hospital. Bailey’s 5-month-old brother Cameron is living with his grandparents. Their father, Ron Johnson, a firefighter, travels to San Francisco on his days off to be with his family.

Motivational speaker Donna Hartley will present, “Fire Up Your Life!” at the fund-raiser. The event is free but donations are encouraged. There also will be a raffle and a bake sale. All proceeds go directly to little Bailey.

People who cannot attend the fund-raiser but wish to make a donation, may send a check made out to The Bailey Johnson Cancer Fund. Mail donations to: Robin Mosca, Post Office Box 9136, South Lake Tahoe, Calif. 96158.
