Fund-raiser planned to help Robyn Miller

The friends of Robyn Miller-Stein are asking for the support of the community to raise money to help cover the costs of mounting medical expenses confronting Mrs. Miller-Stein and her husband, Scott. A longtime Lake Tahoe resident, she has worked at Hoss Hoggs, The Red Hut and, most recently, at Passaretti’s.

Unfortunately, she has contracted lymphatic cancer, which is rapidly spreading to her other internal organs. She is receiving care at Stanford Medical Center and has started very intense chemotherapy. She also faces many other complications each day.

The community is invited to attend a pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 at the California Red Hut Cafe, hosted by owners Dick and Nancy Gardner. A spaghetti feed has been scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. April 23 at Passaretti’s Italian Restaurant, hosted by owners Dan and Tai Passaretti. The owners of these diners are donating all proceeds to aid Robyn and Scott. Many local businesses have donated choice merchandise to be raffled off at Passaretti’s during the spaghetti feed.

Anyone who would like to donate a raffle prize before April 20, or a cash donation, may contact Cheryl Horner at (530) 544-0704 or Marvis Best at (530) 577-8811.
