provided A fund-raiser for Teri Butler, who has cancer, will take place Aug. 17 at the Lake Glen Manor Clubhouse in Carson City.

Employees of Reflections Spa at Harrah’s Tahoe will throw a benefit fund-raiser for their friend and co-worker, Teri Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lake Glen Manor Clubhouse in Carson City. The Lake Glen Manor Clubhouse is on the corner of Curry Street and Lake Glen Drive, behind the Shell Station on Highway 395 across from Gottschalks.

An outdoor enthusiast and dog lover, Butler is also a kind, compassionate and spirited individual, who are age 45, has been battling cancer for two years. She had breast cancer and a mastectomy and is now disabled with liver cancer. A 2 1/2-year employee of the spa at Harrah’s, she is unable to massage and her expenses are mounting. Her fellow employees feel that she has given so much to them and the community, they wanted to find a way to give back. They thought a gathering of people from the community, with food, music, karaoke and seated chair massage, would be a fun way to give support to Butler. The fund-raiser will have a luau theme and everyone is encouraged to wear hula-attire or a funky tropical shirt – or just come as they are. The important thing is to attend and support Teri.

There will be a $10 entrance fee, raffles with prizes from local businesses and donations will be accepted for chair massages. If you are unable to make it but would like to help, donations may be sent to: Teri M. Butler, 600 Highway 50 East, Dayton, NV 89403.
