SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Friends of a George Whittell High School graduate Jerel Dutton will hold a fundraiser at the MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa convention center from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

Adient Zoo, as well as friends of Dutton’s, are expected to play music, and numerous local businesses have donated items for a silent auction, said Dutton’s friend Mike Flanagan.

Dutton was severely injured in a car crash while on a surf trip in Mexico Thanksgiving weekend.

The 23-year-old has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, Flanagan said.

Dutton is no longer in a medially-induced coma. He has both his short- and long-term memory.

“That’s great news,” Flanagan said.

Food and a cash bar will be available at the fundraiser.

Tickets cost $10 and will be sold at the door. Advance ticket purchases can also be made at Kahle Community Center, Chase International in Round Hill, Tahoe Sports Ltd. and Forever Dance Studio in Round Hill.쇓
