Fundraiser to be held for fallen firefighters

Lake Valley Fire Protection District and South Lake Tahoe Fire Department will host a fundraiser Sunday for the 19 firefighters from the Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished in the Arizona fires.

The fundraiser will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Highway 50 near the Bug Station in Meyers. A benefit has been formed by the Prescott Fire Department and all of the funds collected in South Lake Tahoe will be donated to the families of the fallen firefighters.

Donations can also be made at any of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Stations, which are located at 1252 Ski Run Blvd., 2951 Lake Tahoe Blvd., or 2101 Lake Tahoe Blvd. and at Lake Valley Fire Station 7 located at 2211 Keetak St. in Meyers.
