Tahoe Douglas Fire will host a fundraiser for one of its firefighters Friday, Nov. 6 at Himmel Haus.

Firefighter Kyle Van Mouwerik is battling Guillain Barre Syndrome.

“This is good guy that developed a sudden acute illness that left him paralyzed while working a wildland fire for us this summer,” Tahoe Douglas spokesman Eric Guevin said.

Tickets cost $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include dinner, beer and live music. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Bratwurst and spaetzel are on the menu. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Michael Bartlett at 916-753-4225 or or Jeff White at 775-781-7723. Himmel Haus Restaurant & Bar is located at 3819 Saddle Road in South Lake Tahoe.
