Gaines to host Angora fire forum

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – California State Senator Ted Gaines will host a forum to discuss the ramifications of the Angora fire five years later.

The forum will be held from 6-8 p.m. June 25 at South Tahoe High School at 1735 Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

The forum will serve to update the public on what has been done in terms of fire safety in the years since the fire, what work still needs to be accomplished and the status of a bi-state blue ribbon commission’s recommendations, according to an announcement for the event.

Gaines encourages attendees to ask questions and voice their opinions on efforts to protect the Tahoe region from destructive wildfires. He represents the state’s 1st Senate District, which includes Lake Tahoe.
