Gala to support Women’s Center

Provided to the Tribune

South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center is celebrating another year of helping women and families in the community by hosting the seventh annual Sunset Gala by the Lake on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event will be held at a magnificent lakeview home in the prestigious Cave Rock Estates, which has been graciously donated by a local family for the event. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased at the business office at 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The Sunset Gala by the Lake event sponsors include Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Mother Lode Insurance Services, El Dorado Savings Bank, California Wellness Foundation, El Dorado Community Foundation, The UPS Store and The Davis Gallery of Fine Art.

Since 1977 the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center has been dedicated to improving the emotional, social, and economic condition of women and families in the community through programs and services that address domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and basic needs. Last year, the agency assisted 1,998 women, men and children with direct services and provided violence prevention education to an additional 10,513 community members. All profits from the Sunset Gala will directly support programs and services for our clients.

South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center is the only provider of domestic violence and sexual assault services from South Lake Tahoe west to Placerville, north to Incline Village, and east to Carson Valley – and is the only provider in all of Alpine County.
