The Meyers Community Foundation will host its fourth annual Gear Swap from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, in the Westgate Center parking lot adjacent to the Divided Sky.

MCF member René Brejc is encouraging anybody with equipment to sell, that is no older than five years or so, to haul their stuff over to Meyers at 8:30 a.m. and register their items to sell. There is a $1 per item dollar fee to register the equipment and the MCF takes 20 percent of the sale price.

“We put all the money we make back into the Meyers community,” Brejc said. “We organize the Christmas tree lighting which is coming up soon, we help stock fish and we’ve helped establish climbing routes in Meyers along with other things.”

The MCF this year is receiving a sizable donation of ice skates from the South Tahoe Ice Arena to go along with other items at the swap like skis, snowboards, bikes, paddle gear, climbing gear, backcountry gear, camping equipment and other outdoor toys.

Cash or credit cards will be accepted.

Merchandise not sold may be picked up between 3 to 5 p.m. and unclaimed items will be donated.

Last year a few hundred people stopped and the MCF raised about $2,500 to $3,000
