Genoa Lakes Ladies Golf Club crowns champion

Paige Spires is champion of the 12th annual Genoa Lakes Ladies Golf Club President’s Cup tournament, according to Barbara List, president of the club.

Emerging victorious with a two-day net score of 129, Spires received a personal crystal trophy and will have her name added to the permanent trophy in the Genoa Lakes clubhouse. She was also the recipient of the Northern Nevada Women’s Golf Association 2004 Most Improved Golfer award.

Runner-up honors were awarded to Mimi Prim, who posted a 140 net score for the two-day play. Other honors were given to First Flight winners, Gail Taylor (145) and Sandy Cable (148) Second Flight winners, Nan Fleming (140) and Jackie Schimmel (140) and Third Flight winners, Carole Schenck (142) and Diana Gilmore (152.)

The two-day golf event, supervised by Geri Wilks and Diana Mayring, tournament chairs, and Janet Petrosky, rules chair, was followed by lunch at Antoci’s in the banquet room annex, where awards were presented. The post-golf festivities were arranged by Martha Barneson, social chair, and Martha Cornforth, awards chair.
