Girl OK after falling from Heavenly chairlift
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A 6-year-old girl who fell from Heavenly Mountain Resort’s Boulder chairlift this weekend was back on the slopes on Monday, according to officials at the resort.
The girl, who was riding the lift with an instructor, fell around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, said Heavenly spokesman Russ Pecoraro.
Pecoraro did not say how far the girl fell, but indicated the chair was near the lift’s first stanchion when the incident happened. The chair’s safety bar was not down and accident is under investigation, Pecoraro said.
Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Van Ogami said paramedics found no signs of trauma to the girl. Paramedics took her to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe as a precautionary measure, Ogami said.
