SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Thousands of people attended the South Lake Tahoe Earth Day Festival Saturday at the Lake Tahoe Community College.

The South Shore Earth Day Festival aimed to recognize, celebrate and promote the region’s beauty and educates the public on local environmental issues.

Topics included counteracting global climate change through recycling and composting, alternative energy, water conservation, forest health, sustainability and reducing the ecological footprint.
