Golf gets serious as American Century Championship first round tees off (photos)

STATELINE — All the shots — good and bad — now count at the 27th annual American Century Championship. The three-day tournament officially teed off Friday morning, July 22, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

Justin Timberlake and Alfonso Ribeiro got the ACC underway early with a 6:30 a.m. tee time, Ribeiro scored 17 points in his opening round while Timberlake finished with six.

The marquee group of the 29 in the opening round was a dream pairing for hoops fans. It featured two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry with his father Dell Curry and Golden State Warriors teammate Andre Iguodala.
