Golf talk for TDVA

The Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority Board of Directors will plan for a flurry of summer activities during its monthly meeting on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. at the Lakeside Inn & Casino.

The board will review a specific work plan proposed by Godbe Research & Analysis from Half Moon Bay to examine the feasibility of a regular bus route to and from the Sacramento area. The Tahoe Casino Express, which serves the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, is the model for the research.

The board will also consider a request from Sports Marketing & Television International for additional sponsorship money from the visitors authority for the American Century Golf Championship. Douglas County Commissioner Don Miner, the county’s representative to the TDVA, will propose $100,000 for the championship. The Sports Marketing proposal is for $350,000.

Also on the agenda is a progress report on plans for the Labor Day Lake Tahoe celebration.
