Got freetime? Check out Tahoe’s South Shore before Bass Camp’s party starts

The Bass Camp party starts at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, but you may be wondering where you’ll go explore during the daytime hours.

Here is a rundown of places you can visit while you’re not at Bass Camp:

Hard Rock Casino and Resort

Why not check out the host of Bass Camp inside and see what they have for you? In addition to a slew of card tables and slot machines, you can check out some especially cool rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia — ranging from MJ’s glove to Kurt Cobain notes from the 1990s.

Kiva Beach

Bringing the dog and need a great dog friendly (and free) beach? Check out Kiva Beach, located off of Highway 89. Head down to the “Y” intersection at the other end of town and take a right. Located between Baldwin Beach and Camp Richardson, this gem of a beach will keep you entertained before the festival begins.

Van Sickle Hike

This easy hike located behind the Raley’s shopping center at Stateline near Hard Rock will keep you entertained before the festival, giving great views of the lake and a waterfall if you venture high enough. Make it to the top and you’ll reach parts of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Don’t feel like hiking back down after making it to the top? Take The Ridge Resort shuttle down to the Transit Center in the Heavenly Village for $2 and enjoy a cocktail at one of the restaurants in the village.
