Grand old yard sale scheduled

The Lake Tahoe Nevada Republican Women will sponsor a huge yard sale June 9 and 10 at 215 Elks Point Road, behind Sears. The hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

All day Sunday a brown grocery bag of regular clothing will cost just $5. This is the sixth year for the sale that promises to be bigger and better than every. Landlords and remodelers will find super buys in light fixtures, furniture and appliances.

Not only will they have the finest “junque” Lake Tahoe has to offer, the Cadets of the Civil Air Patrol will staff a food booth of delectable delights. An added feature is new American flags that will be sold so people can replace their tired, faded flag before the coming Fourth of July.

Proceeds from the sale will stay in the community. Contributions last year went to the Boy and Girls Club program at Kahle Community Center, Washoe Elders, a scholarship to a high school senior interested in government and support of the Civil Air Patrol Cadets. Donations are welcome. To donate items or for more information call Lynne at (530) 541-8526.
