Granlibakken hosts contest to name Viking trio

Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge in Tahoe City is two contests to name the resort’s Viking trio.

First, meeting planners or individuals from any company or industry can enter the contest online with a creative moniker for the Vikings at http://tinyurl.com/groupcontest. The grand prize winner will receive a free conference at Granlibakken valued at $20,010, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee breaks, complimentary cocktails, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and resort lodging and activities.

“By offering a new, meeting-specific contest we hope to reach industry conference planners looking for a unique, inclusive property at Lake Tahoe and of course have some fun with our Viking theme,” said Kay Williams, general manager.

There will also be an additional Viking name contest for the general public through May 5. Contestants can visit http://granlibakken.com/viking_contest.php to enter to win a free trip to Lake Tahoe for four, including lodging, breakfast, dinner and a private cocktail party with one of the Vikings.

“Our first Viking contest was a fun way to connect with potential visitors and let them know all we have to offer,” said Kay Williams, general manager at Granlibakken. “We’re channeling our Nordic roots with this contest to reach more travelers with an interest in Lake Tahoe.”
