Grants to be awarded to Tahoe organizations
The El Dorado Community Foundation has mailed application forms to nonprofit organizations, schools, churches and service organizations serving South Lake Tahoe.
Up to six $500 awards will be made to groups whose programs support or enhance the educational enrichment opportunities for children in our local public schools.
“The Community Foundation is grateful to the thoughtful people of South Lake Tahoe who created a permanently endowed fund at the Foundation specifically to benefit this wonderful geographical area,” said Executive Director Stephen M. Healy. “We are excited to be making our first grants from the fund this fall.”
Foundation Program Officer Cathy Jensen said, “We believe that we have a comprehensive mailing list of organizations in South Lake Tahoe, but wish that organizations would contact us just to ensure that they are on the mailing list for this and future funding opportunities.”
Representatives from organizations are asked to contact her by phone at (530) 622-5621 or by email at cathy@ eldoradocf.org.
The South Lake Tahoe Area Fund is advised by a Cabinet composed of Mark Acri, Wendy David, Terry Finney, Karen Houser, Bob Novasel and Gene Rasmussen.
The El Dorado Community Foundation solicits and manages charitable gifts through an endowment fund. Foundation scholarships and grants are awarded throughout El Dorado County in support of local students, nonprofit services and programs.
