Former Montrose members Steve Brown and Larry Hart will join the Greg Golden Band for a free show at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe Friday.

Brown and Hart will be in good company with the Reno band, which has a pair of members connected to the California hard rock act most active in the 1970s.

“The Greg Golden Band is a classic rock band composed of 6 members,” according to the Greg’s Golden Band’s online biography. “They are all pros and have many years of experience touring and playing…The band has two lead singers (Randy Scoles and Paul Holdgate) and both have sang with the late Ronnie Montrose.”

The Greg Golden Band won the Reno News and Review’s awards for best musician and best band in 2014 and won best new album in 2015 for its self-titled album, released earlier this year. The group has made regular appearances at Hard Rock, much to the delight of the band.

“Incredible sound and lights, classy environment, and a rock n’ roll vibe like no other,” according to a Tuesday post on the band’s Facebook page. “It is the Hard Rock, but they go beyond. It is an amazing place to see bands and they do not even charge a cover.”

Attendees to Friday’s show will each be eligible to win a Squier Bullet Strat guitar.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
