Group focuses on photography

Provided to the Tribune

PhotoFocus, a local group of photography enthusiasts, gathers each month to show, share and inspire each other’s photography.

The group meets each month and gives members a theme to take photos of by the next meeting. Images that fit the theme are showng at the next meeting, during which attendees will vote on submissions. Image critique is offered, but not required. The winner gets to pick the next theme.

Guest speakers are invited to each meeting to share their knowledge of photography and subjects including image-processing software, equipment and techniques. The group also goes on field trips and advanced members host workshops.

The next meeting will be held April 4 at 7 p.m. at 3932 Bridle Road in South Lake Tahoe. Gary and Terri Butler of Wellington, who photograph western life, will be the guest speakers.

PhotoFocus is open to anyone interested in photography. For more information, contact Theresa Souers at souers@homeintahoe.com or Jim Stamates at jim@stamates.com or 530-577-4101.
