Group to send cards and letters to soldiers

Provided to the Tribune

A group at South Lake Tahoe is organizing a program to acknowledge and thank military service personnel for all they do, not just for people in Tahoe but the world.

“We have several men and women who are currently in the Armed Forces, who need to know they are not forgotten. They are stationed overseas as well as state-side,” said organizer Sherry Walker.

Walker and her group will be working with Lake Tahoe Unified School District and the general public to write letters and send packages – remember, Christmas is coming up.

“If you have a loved one who is serving his or her country in the military or would like to help with sending letters, packages and Christmas cards, or if you know of a solider who could use a letter from home, give me a call,” Walker said. “We want to make sure all the brave mothers, fathers, sisters, sons and daughters are kept in the hearts and minds of all our residents.”

For more information call Walker at Dr. George Worth’s office at (530) 541-8855 or fax her at (530) 541-7335.
