Guest Column: Mission trip update

Hello to all of you, past team members, future team members and all those who have not yet gone, but have asked us to let you know the “where, when and what” of the next project.

We are taking a medical team, as well as a construction team and a children’s ministry team, to Honduras again. We have been taking this combination to Central America for the past 4 years of the 25 years of CFM projects and the results have been such a blessing to all involved; the team members, the couples with different abilities, the national ministry and to the national people that are served in so many ways.

The dates of the 2015 trip are May 7 through May 16. Depending on where you live and where your departure flight originates may mean additional travel time prior to the first project day and additional time following the return date. Those from South Lake Tahoe and the area around San Francisco previously have driven to the SF airport the evening prior to departure and return from San Francisco the day after the return date. You will need to keep this in mind when coordinating time off from your employment.

We will again be working with our friend, Pastor Humberto Del Arca, the leader of the ministry in Honduras based in La Ceiba, whom we have worked with for many years. He and his ministry leaders will be looking at the different projects needed and their locations and will let us know where the greatest need and impact might be. So we don’t have a lot of details now but will have them as soon as they can prayerfully make these determinations.

Later, after we have completed our presentation circuit to the local participating churches, we will have an Information night for those that would like to meet personally with us and get answers to their questions. Watch for this information either in your bulletin or by email.

Also, this next project will be year 25 and we want to celebrate by doing a mission trip giveaway raffle. All the many additional prizes however are local to the Tahoe area so raffle tickets will be offered only in this area. But if any of you from out of the town would like to purchase tickets, all gifts are transferable and, God only knows, maybe you might be the chosen one to purchase the winning number.

Bendicitos! (We are blessed!)
