Guitarist Harvey Reid to perform at Lake Tahoe Community College

Provided to the Tribune

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” Harvey Reid is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter who envisions himself as a modern-day minstrel. Fiercely independent, he has released 18 albums on his own Woodpecker Records label and maintains a rigorous touring schedule, making at least one trip through California from his New England home base each year.

Reid is the inventor of the partial capo used by many artists (Willy Porter, Janis Ian, David Wilcox, Adrian Legg among others).

Be prepared to hear a variety of acoustic music, from hip-folk to country, slashing slide blues guitar to bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, ragtime and even classical all presented with a humorist’s touch.

Harvey Reid, presented by Lake Tahoe Community College’s Performing Arts League, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on March 18 in the college’s Duke Theatre. Tickets are $13 at the door; box office opens at 6 p.m.
