Halloween activities around Tahoe

Treat Street

More than 30 local businesses will be handing out candy in decorated rooms, along with providing carnival games and a small haunted house at the Pine Cone Acre Motel, located at 735 Emerald Bay Road. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. Firefighters will hand out candy too. The event is sponsored by the New South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. The event is free.

Douglas County Parks & Recreation Halloween Carnival

The carnival will host a costume parade, along with carnival games, a “Great Pumpkin” egg hunt, and a musical creepy crawl. The festivities will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kahle Community Center, located at 236 Kingsbury Grade. The event is sponsored by Kiwanis of Lake Tahoe Sunrisers. The event is free.

Terror in Paradise

This is the last chance this season to check out the 13-year-old haunted house operation, which is located next to Grocery Outlet at 2358 Lake Tahoe Boulevard. The haunting will commence at 6 p.m.

Harvest Festival

The events will include a biblical costume contest, face painting, a pumpkin patch, games, crafts, and tasty treats such as candy and caramel apples. This festival starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship, located at 3580 Blackwood Road. It has a $3 entry fee per child.

Sleaziest Halloween Costume Contest

The Tudor Pub, located at 1041 Fremont Ave., will host the contest during The Hyenas and The Marones shows. Halloween drink specials will also be available for customers.

SIN Halloween Party

Vex Nightclub, located in Harrah’s, is hosting a costume contest. The event will give participants a chance to win their share of $10,000 in prizes. The party will also include dancing with tunes spun by DJ Roackaton.
