Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe, along with Harrah’s Reno, will turn out all non-essential lights Saturday from 8:30-9:30 p.m. in honor of “Earth Hour.”

“Earth Hour,” an annual event organized by the World Wildlife Fund, is recognized in more than 5,200 cities and town in 135 countries and serves as a message for action on climate change.

In order to save energy, Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe have also converted nearly 60 percent of all incandescent lighting to energy-efficident CFL and LED lighting over the past two years.
