Health Fair testing offered in September; Fair is Oct. 7

Pre-Health Fair laboratory services at Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville are planned in September. The third annual Community Health Fair is set for Oct. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The laboratory services will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 12, 14, 19 and 21, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and two Saturdays, Sept. 16 and 23, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Testing services include a 22-test health fair panel for $25 (with 12-hour fasting prior to test, water and medications permissible); prostate cancer screening (PSA), $25; thyroid evaluation (TSH), $15; osteomark (urine screen for bone loss), $15; and electrocardiogram (EKG), $15.



Participants will pick up their results at the Health Fair. At that time, free flu shots for people 55 and older and $5 for 18 and older will be offered. Booths and speakers will offer other health information.
