Heavenly Holidays to begin

Heavenly Mountain Resort will kick off Heavenly Holidays Friday with Santa in a 16-foot snow globe.

The celebration features 12 days of festivities that will conclude Dec. 31 with the gondola drop to mark the start of 2014.

Santa’s Workshop Snow Globe will take place Dec. 20-24 from 2-7 p.m. Children can step into Santa’s workshop, which has been recreated within a giant snow globe. Guests will be able to take photos with Santa, and a disc jockey will play holiday favorites Dec. 21-22. Carolers will perform Dec. 23-24 from 4-7 p.m.

Ice Spectacular will take place Dec. 28-30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Heavenly Ice Rink. Skaters will perform a different show each night.

An ice sculpting exhibition will take place Dec. 28-30 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. Visitors can watch sculptors work.
