Heavenly Ski Foundation hosts Ice Tee

Dust off your golf clubs and tune up your skis because it’s time for the eighth annual Ice Tee competition sponsored by Heavenly Ski Foundation and The Golf Club at Genoa Lakes, where participants can ski and/or golf all on the same day.

Everyone is invited to participate in the fun and challenging event and everyone has a chance to win. The event will take place April 23. All proceeds will benefit the Heavenly Ski Foundation and the Genoa Lakes Junior Golf Program.

The tournament is made up of two fun events. Participants may choose to ski only, golf only or engage in both. Registration will take place at 8 a.m. at the Heavenly Ski Foundation building. The “Ice” portion of the day will begin with a Giant Slalom at Heavenly Ski Resort. Each racer will take two runs on a 24-second course. The best time scored is multiplied by three to approximate a golf score for 18 holes. All participants have a chance to win as handicaps will be established during a test run that morning.

Golf will be at The Golf Club at Genoa Lakes. Lunch, a putting contest and an opportunity to warm up on the driving range will start at 10:45 a.m. The 18-hole “shot-gun” start golf tournament will begin at approximately 1 p.m. Following the tournament, approximately 6 p.m., a post tournament party and awards presentation will take place.

The advance registration deadline is April 20. The fees are:

Ski Only Teams, $100; Ski Only Individuals, $30; Golf Only Teams, $200; Golf Only Individuals, $80; Golf and Ski Teams, $300; Golf and Ski Individuals, $110.
