Heavenly Sports makes magical donation

Dan Thrift / Tahoe Daily Tribune/ Cathie Rahbeck, Heavenly Sports Specialty Sports Venture area manager, left, presents a check for $4,945 to Wendy David, who will ensure the money ends up in the hands of those who need it through Tahoe Magic.

Though this past holiday season may have been wet, gray and windy, sunshine and cheer were granted to some of the less fortunate families of South Lake Tahoe.

This holiday season, Heavenly Sports and affiliate shops collected donations for a local charity, Tahoe Magic Inc., aka “Santa’s Magic Ride.” Tahoe Magic provides a “Magical Christmas” for those in need.

Tahoe Magic assists financially needy children and their families by providing them with support (gifts or financial help) throughout the year. Though focused on the Christmas season, this nonprofit organization works year-round with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, the Young Parents Program, Headstart and the Family Resource Center to provide assistance that enables the families to be self sustaining.

Thanks to the customers and staff of Heavenly Sports Specialty Sports Venture for all the contributions plus a partial match from Specialty Sports Venture for a total donation of $4,945.34 made to Tahoe Magic Inc., in an effort to bring hope to local families and children.

Anyone who wishes to participate with the Tahoe Magic charity may mail an inquiry or donation to Tahoe Magic Inc., P.O. Box 13070, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151.
