Heavenly to open more runs Saturday

Heavenly Mountain ResortMore lifts will open Saturday at Heavenly after a storm dropped more than a foot of fresh snow today.

Heavenly Mountain Resort will open the Big Easy and Easy Street chair lifts, along with the California Trail back to Tamarack on Saturday, officials announced today.

With about a foot of new snow this afternoon, to go along with the 6 to 9 inches overnight and the man-made snow that allowed the resort to open earlier this month, Heavenly is on track to expand its ski territory.

Heavenly currently has Tahoe’s most open terrain with plans to open the additional lifts Saturday.

“This is the storm everyone has been waiting for,” said Blaise Carrig, Heavenly’s chief operating officer. “The snow is falling hard and things are looking great for the holidays.”

This storm couldn’t come at a better time for season pass holders. Heavenly season passes are on sale now for $369, but the deadline to lock in this price is Dec. 16.
