Heavenly Mountain Resort will kick off its annual holiday celebrations this Sunday with a visit from Santa Claus, and the festivities will continue through a fireworks show New Year’s Eve.

Santa’s workshop will be recreated inside a 16-foot snow in the Heavenly Village from Sunday, Dec. 20, to Thursday, Dec. 24, for Heavenly Holidays.

“Head inside the snow globe to sit on Santa’s lap for a unique photo opportunity,” according to a description of the event from Heavenly. “Enjoy holiday music from a live DJ and watch Carolers perform.”

The celebrations continue Friday, Dec. 31, when craftsmen are set to create large ice sculptors in Heavenly Village. The evening concludes with an outdoor concert, a 9 p.m. gondola ball drop and a fireworks show, according to information from Heavenly. Fire dancers, a photo booth and face painting will also be part of the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
