Heavy rain, snow in the Lake Tahoe weekend forecast
LAKE TAHOE ” Heavy rain and the potential for wet snow are in the forecast this weekend for the Lake Tahoe Basin.
According to a special weather statement from the National Weather Service in Reno, showers may reach the Sierra late Thursday and into Friday morning, as a low pressure system makes its way to Northern California and Nevada.
Furthermore, a period of heavy rain or snow is likely Friday night and Saturday morning, with total liquid precipitation amounts in the Sierra of 1 to 2 inches expected, with the potential for more than 2 inches in some areas.
Snow levels should lower to 7,000 to 7,500 feet by Friday night, according to the statement.
