High tea at church in Gardnerville

Committee members are preparing for this year’s Best of Yesterday High Tea. The tea will begin at 2 p.m. April 19 in the St. Gall Pastoral Center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Tickets for the event are $25 each.

A champagne reception will take place in the pastoral center with a viewing of the tables. This will enable all in attendance to look at each table and vote for their favorite while they sip champagne and visit with one another. Each table will feature its own special theme.

Since the high tea begins at 2 p.m., it is not a luncheon, but an afternoon tea with a sampling of mini-sandwiches and desserts. The emphasis is on presentation and conversation. It is the spirit of the tea party and the ritual of sharing with other women that makes it a special day.

The Best of Yesterday High Tea is the main fundraiser for the St. Gall Women’s Society this year. Since the event sells out early each year, anyone who wants a ticket or more information should contact Leslie Solt at (775) 265-5719 as soon as possible. Also, tickets will be on sale at the all the Masses on Saturday and Sunday beginning Feb. 16, and in the church office during the week.
