Hike to take place at Spooner Lake State Park

Submitted to the Tribune

A free guided hike at Spooner Lake State Park will take place Jan. 1.

The hike will be a snowshoe hike if there is adequate snow. The outing will follow the Spooner Lake loop trail, which is a little over two miles. Very little change in elevation makes this trail a family favorite, a press release stated. Park entrance fees are waived for hike participants.

The hike will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the park, located on Highway 28, one-half mile north of the intersection with Highway 50. Children are welcome, but dogs are not permitted. Guests are advised to dress warm and bring a snack and water. In the event of severe weather, the hike may be canceled.

Contact the park for up-to-date information.
