Historic trails are topic of talk

Provided to the Tribune

The Great Room at the main lodge at Historical Camp Richardson will be the site of the Lake Tahoe Historical Society program meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 24.

The featured speaker will be historian Frank Tortorich, who will talk about historic trails in our part of the Sierra. A retired school superintendent, Tortorich is a director of the California-Oregon Trails Association. He has spent many years mapping and marking trails used by early pioneers and gold seekers. His work in the area continues.

As always, there is no charge for the event. The Historical Society invites residents and visitors to join them around the fireplace at Camp Richardson for refreshments and a guarantee for a uniquely interesting program.
