Hit-and-run suspect to appear in court
TRUCKEE – The 18-year-old man accused in the Aug. 16 hit-and-run death of Truckee resident Keith Stewart will be arraigned on charges of attempted sexual assault today in Nevada County Superior Court in Truckee. Scott Lindner faces charges including assault to commit a felony sex offense and false imprisonment. The alleged victims have been identified as a 17-year-old Truckee girl and a 13-year-old girl.
A preliminary hearing took place on Sept. 1 at Nevada County Superior Court in Truckee. The 17-year-old girl testified at the hearing that she believed Lindner would have raped her had she not fled his Chevrolet Tahoe on the night of Aug. 12. After listening to testimonies, Judge Anders Holmer ruled that there was sufficient evidence for Lindner to be arraigned.
The hit-and-run death case is on hold pending toxicology report results.
