Hosts for students needed

Lake Tahoe Community College and Youth for Understanding International Exchange offer South Shore residents the opportunity to welcome the world home.

LTCC, one of 20 community colleges nationwide selected to participate in the YFU exchange program, is looking for several families to open their homes to eight international students arriving in September.

Youth for Understanding, founded in 1951, is a nonprofit educational organization and one of the world’s largest exchange organizations.

Upon arrival, students will live with volunteer host families. In addition to participating in all aspects of college life, from attending a wide assortment of classes to joining sports and club activities, the students will experience life with an American family.
