Human resources association seeks board members

Provided to the Tribune

TAHOE/TRUCKEE – Sierra Human Resources Association is a community organization that provides business owners, managers and HR professionals the opportunity to network and discuss management practices and business issues that affect employees and our livelihood.

SHRA is seeking enthusiastic leaders with a variety of skill sets in the areas of membership development, public relations and marketing, program development, meeting coordination and administrative support.

SHRA presents an annual calendar of quarterly meetings, networking lunches and popular workshops (Social Media Smarts, The Art of Public Speaking), and legal updates (Trash Talk with Attorneys, Strictly Workers Comp) co-sponsored by the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.

This week, SHRA will host 400 international students from South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand so they can learn about American cultural differences, the Tahoe-Truckee lifestyle and employment expectations in our service-based economy.

On Jan. 20 SHRA is set to a lively annual employment law update at the Cedar House Sports Hotel in Truckee from 8:30 am to noon with Julie A. Vogelzang, an employment law attorney and partner at Duane Morris LLP in San Diego.

Sierra Human Resources Association is a proud affiliate of the Society for HR Management.
