Humane society seeks donations for auction

The Pet Network Humane Society is looking for donations for its fourth annual Purses for Pets event.

Gently used purses, clutches, bags and jewelry can be dropped off at Dog Dog Cat, 4000 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Suite C-17 in South Lake Tahoe, until Sept. 20. Items will be auctioned off Oct. 14 from 1-4 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino’s Paradise Ballroom in Reno, Nev. All proceeds will benefit Pet Network Humane Society’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

“This event has become a key fundraiser for Pet Network,” Executive Director Becky Goodman stated in a press release “Last year, with the help of our donors and bidders, we raised almost $20,000 to support animals in need. It is such a fun and exciting event. Every year our attendees and donors grow. And while we love that growth, what we love even more is that it means we can save more animals.”

Pet Network Humane Society is a non-profit whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals through rescue, rehabilitation and humane education. We receive no public funding and depend on the generous donations of our community to sustain our life-saving work.
