SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Golfers drove, chipped and putted in support of the Coyotes on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The inaugural Coyote Classic fundraiser teed off at Lake Tahoe Golf Course, and featured 51 golfers and 10 sponsored holes.
The Coyote Classic raised $5,000 that all went to Lake Tahoe Community College’s Coyote Club, which supports athletics at the school. The winning team at the event — the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel foursome of Bill Cottrill, Sal Delgado, Marc Hage and Dave Vogt — shot a 10-under-par 61.
Hage also won a putter after hitting the ball in a boat located near the ninth hole. John Murray smashed the longest drive on the 13th hole, while Kirk David (11th hole) and Bob Novasel (17th hole) were closest to the pin on two back-nine greens.
LTCC thanks event sponsors AP Architects, Barton Health, U.S. Bank, Kiwanis Club, Western Highland Mortgage, Mike Flanagan of Chase International and Coyotes athletic director Mike Spina. The Coyotes also offer a howl-out to Bryan Vargem at KRLT 93.9 FM/KOWL 1490 AM for his time, energy, and help in making it a successful event.
