Inaugural Fourth of July parade to be held

South Lake Tahoe will host its inaugural Fourth of July Parade and celebration on Wednesday, July 4.

The parade will honor families of fallen heroes, veterans and active duty military. It will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and will start at Stateline and travel down Highway 50 to Rufus Allen Boulevard. Floats will park in the back of the recreation complex at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

The parade will be followed by a celebration at the museum and senior center parking lot, 3050 Highway 50, from noon to 3 p.m. The family-friendly celebration will feature food, vendors and live music by the Cash Only Band. Parking will be available at the recreation center.

The event is sponsored by KTHO, South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the city of South Lake Tahoe.
