It’s time to get a flu vaccine

Barton HealthCare System will offer vaccines at the annual Flu & Pneumonia Vaccination Clinics starting Oct. 24 and continuing through Dec. 14.

Flu vaccines are $20 and pneumonia shots are $30 and are covered by Medicare. The first two dates, Oct. 24 and Oct. 26, are for high-risk individuals only: anyone 65 or older; those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, lung or heart disorders; immune system disorders; pregnant women; and healthcare workers. Be sure to take documentation of age and/or chronic illness to the clinic.

The clinics will take place at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena on Rufus Allen Boulevard and at Stateline Medical Center at 155 Highway 50, Stateline. The clinic at the ice arena only accepts individuals 18 and older. Stateline Medical Center accepts individuals 9 and older.

The vaccine clinics continue Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 at Stateline Medical Center and at the Ice Arena on Nov. 14, Nov. 16, Nov. 18, Dec. 2 and Dec. 14.
