ituary- Viola Jean ‘Vi’ Nichols

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 22 for Viola Jean “Vi” Nichols, who died Sept. 12, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fresno, Calif., following a long illness. She was 77.

Mrs. Nichols was born May 5, 1924, at Los Angeles, Calif., and had been a 20-year resident of the Tahoe area. She was an active member of the Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at The Attic, the auxiliary’s thrift store. She was also a member of the Tahoe Bunco Group. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Fogelman of Wilmington, N. C., Nola Rasch of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Megan Nichols of Fresno; grandsons, Anthony Fogelman of Wilmington and Liam Nichols-Shipley of Fresno; and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James D. Nichols.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church in Round Hill. Inurnment will follow at Happy Homestead Cemetery next to her husband.

Remembrances may be sent to Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
